With ANZAC Day just around the corner I thought I’d add a hymn written about the fallen of the First World War.
The words of this very moving hymn, O Valiant Hearts, were originally a poem by Sir John Stanhope Arkwright (1872–1954). It was set to music by the Rev. Dr. Charles Harris.
This stunning a cappella arrangement is by Sam Robson, who has already featured on this site. As a point of interest, at the end of the second verse (about 1:30 in) listen for the harmony reference to the last post that carries into verse three.
As with all these videos, try to listen on a set of good speakers or headphones.
